Faith

What is faith? The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." I hope in God because His Words in the Bible are truth and can be depended upon. Prophecies from the Old Testament have been fulfilled in the New Testament. Prophecies in the New Testament have been show historically to be accurate. Countless facts and details in the Bible are interwoven with such extreme precision, that only God could have given the information to His faithful prophets before the actual events took place. The God I have faith in is our Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. I trust in God because He showed His great love for human beings by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from eternal death which was result of the sin committed originally by Eve and Adam and then the suffering, death, and imperfections of sin was transferred through their offspring and in the world around them which also became poisoned with sin and evil because of the original sin they committed.  He has sent personal messages for all humans in the Bible. The most compelling reason to believe that the Bible is true, is the incredible power the words within it have to change human hearts and make a person's life better. When we humble ourselves, pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to us through Bible verses and stories, then we experience deep, personal, revelations and inspiration that will change us to be filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.

I have faith in the God of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ who is my Savior. Jesus came to the earth as a baby and lived His life without sinning. Jesus ministered to people by telling them stories about how to receive the gift of salvation from sin and how to gain the promise of eternal life in Heaven and continuing forever in the new earth. He asked people to follow Him, learn from Him, and to then also share the good news that sinners can be saved from death and that they can experience eternal life. Finally, Jesus the Savior died to pay the price of sin for humans who were going to die because of sin. Towards the end of the Bible, the writing of Paul the apostle give us templates for living our lives today as Christians. Christians are people who believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior and people who want to be like Christ. Christians are like the disciples who followed Jesus.

I am  Christian. I am also a Seventh-day Adventist, which is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 18 million members worldwide with more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist church, following the example of Jesus Christ, seeks to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere. Their lives illustrate both faith in God and the church's commitment to the betterment of all human beings.
